Things were okay when all I had was Firefox and Safari. The thing I am going to miss most about Xmarks is its ability to search through all my Bookmarks and delete all the duplicates and a couple of other thing like duplicated bookmark folders. I made a clean backup of my bookmarks which took me a long time to sort out after Firefox sync screwed them up multiple times. After searching for alternatives I found Eversync and I am going to give it a try to see how it goes. Looking in Mozilla's forum this seems to be quite common and even in Firefox 58, they admit they have no fix for it. I started getting duplicates upon duplicates every time I started up Firefox and even had some of my bookmarks disappear out of the blue. They offer no way to cleanup duplicates or invalid bookmarks, and when synching across multiple computers things can go horribly wrong. until today! Firefox sync is just horrible. I had been using Firefox sync for bookmarks for several months now since switching from Chrome. The closest alternative would be to have a folder full of URL shortcuts on the desktop, but bookmarks are just easier to use. There is no way to do our job without bookmarks unless we don't user a web browser at all. For those of us who perform our jobs at a computer desk, we MUST have bookmarks. Whoever thinks that is possible must have an incredible ability to memorize URLs. I would say there is no "moving on" from bookmarks. Any chance you can use a single browser across platforms that has built in sync? I'm using Edge on my Windows PCs and my Galaxy S8+ for this reason, primarily.Īlso, I too refuse to move on from Bookmarks, whatever the rest of the world says.
